"Red Entertainment works hard, and when that work comes together, it tends to be something pretty special. Our latest feature film, “One Percent More Humid,” is no exception.
Right off the bat, this project was extremely different for us. For the first time, Red Entertainment was shooting outside of Texas, shooting in New Paltz, NY as well as New York City. We took advantage of seeing what some other regions of the country had to offer the film community (not to mention, the move really helped us extend our production network to one of the biggest production hubs in the world). But the location wasn’t the only difference, we also shot with an Arri Alexa Mini, making this the first feature film we have worked on without a RED. Pushing outside of our comfort zone set us up to create something vastly different than some of our past features.
As soon as we started working with writer/director Liz W. Garcia, we knew we were in for something special. Not only is she a critically acclaimed filmmaker and Sundance alumna, but she is a creative female force in a too-often male dominated profession. We're excited to have been a part of a film that is on the right side of change in the film industry, and we hope Liz as well as "One Percent More Humid" continue to serve as motivation for aspiring female directors in the future.
Not only was Liz incredible, but the talent we worked with elevated the project even further. Juno Temple, Julia Garner, and Alessandro Nivola have been a part of so many incredible films and continue to find exciting roles to fill. Whether it be Juno working in Woody Allen’s upcoming untitled project, Julia’s upcoming Netflix series “OZARK,” or Alessandro’s “You Were Never Really Here,” all three actors continue to lead amazing careers with exciting futures.
With the film currently in post-production, we have been thrilled with the footage we captured and cannot wait to see the final product come together. Thank you to everyone who lent a helping hand, and stay tuned for more updates!"
